I Lost My Treble Long Ago …

The lower sound of the bass resonates with my soul.

In music, you’ve got high notes and low notes. In life you have the same. We fear trying something new and we lean into familiar sounds or situations where we feel comfortable.

But how do you know about something new without trying?

There are many types of losses. You may lose a friend, a job, a piece of jewelry, or your temper and that is hard. But sometimes we need to declutter and let go of things that may make senseto others, but not to ourselves.

Lately I have been decluttering my life of toxic people around me who only benefit from things I can offer. Once life hit me and they become less available, I noticed how I felt so much better without them.

I also became less focused on material things, finding meaning in old outfits catching dust in the closet and spending less on new ones. Instead of wishing for things I didn’t have, I learned to appreciate what I already do.

How many times do we find ourselves worrying about what other people will think of us? How many opportunities do we lose because we were too self-conscious?

So I decided to give it away—the high pitches in my life and embrace my clef, grooving Bassfully into a life of low sounds and deep meaning.

We only have this one life. Why waste it focusing on only the highest notes?

You may think I am crazy, outdated, or out of tune. Go ahead. And I will mute a chord for a

second and then keep playing my tune to be heard loud and clear.

I lost my treble long ago. And I couldn’t be happier.
